The WeekEND Travel League (WTL) is the largest league for the Dayton Chapter.  In 2019, the WTL had 61 registered golfers. The goals for 2020 are to increase the number of registered golfers, to increase event participation, to provide more incentives for including all handicaps, to improve handicap education and MOST IMPORTANT … to have fun!

While the WTL league is listed as 'competitive' please keep in mind the majority of events are team based with balanced handicaps. Handicaps do work to balance the play for everyone.

New for the 2020 season, we will include team AND individual games.  With Golf Genius (GG), we are able to have multiple 'games' being scored at the same time. GG will again be utilized completely. We realize some do not want to participate in mobile/live scoring and we respect that; however, due to the 2020 change to the World Handicapping System, we need to post scores hole-by-hole and post that day before midnight.  This season, if you do not enter your score by hole as you play thru the round, then at the end of the round take 5 minutes and input all hole-by-hole scores.  Usually there is one person in the group that will enter scores, you just need to validate at the end of the round.

General information

The fee to join is $15.  We put $1 in for the game-of-the-day and the remaining amount will go towards the end-of-year event.

The total payout for each event will utilize $1 from each lady registered in WTL (NOT the number of players at each event). For example, if we have 53 registered in the league, each event will pay out $53.

Optional Games

  1. Chip-in pot for each event. We will collect $10 ($1 for each golf event) on the first event.
  2. Skins for each event. We will collect $10 ($1 for each golf event) on the first event. Handicaps WILL be used for skins.

New for 2020:

  1. Proximities.  Increased from 2 per event to 4 per event (all par 3's). Payout is $3 per proximity.
  2. Low Net / Low Gross.  Increased to pay out LN/LG per FLIGHT. Payout is $2 per event per flight. Flights will be announced prior to each event.
  3. Most Improved Player - Per Flight.  Based on handicap from season start to last event, all scores used, flights announced once registration is complete. Payout is $5 per flight winner.

Also being considered:

  1. Ryder Cup format tournament (match play)
  2. Ringer tournament (played relative to par) possibly 54 holes?
  3. Stableford (points) tournament - season long? 54 holes?
